Common Questions

Yes, my business registration with Washington State is active. If you need documentation, send a message to kelvin@kaneri.co.

Yes, I have general liability insurance with an aggregate limit of $2,000,000. If you need any other details or require more coverage, send a message to kelvin@kaneri.co.

I require a non-refundable retainer of $1000. The remainder of the total cost is due 1 month before your wedding day. We can do a payment plan and I accept credit card or bank transfer, neither of which have fees toward you.

There are specific details within the contract but essentially, if you cancel far enough ahead of time, you only forfeit the non-refundable retainer. If you cancel within a month of the wedding date, then you forfeit the total cost.

More details are written in the contract but essentially, you can postpone and reschedule to a date on which I’m not already busy within a year from your original wedding date. If it’s not possible, then you’d forfeit the non-refundable retainer.

You’ll have my phone number but for the most part, we’ll stay in touch by email or through your planner. If you’re working with a planner, they’ll always be copied in our correspondence.

I’ll send another professional videographer with a similar style at no additional cost to you.

I treat them as a creative partner. The better we work together, the better both your photos and videos  will be. And just as importantly, the more you’re going to enjoy the overall experience. You can read more about it on this article.

Before I entered the wedding industry, I was an operations leader for the largest consumer goods company in the world. While I was responsible for leading my part of the business toward our 3 to 5 year plan, I was also heavily involved in solving the day-to-day crises. I’m no stranger to a bit of chaos and actually thrive in it. I’m quick on my feet, extremely resourceful, and am a natural problem solver. If something unexpected happens, we’ll figure it out together.

My cameras can handle all sorts of lighting situations short of complete darkness. I’m also ok with your photographer using flash so long as you’re ok with flashes being in your films. I bring a few lights with me (two small and two large) which can be used during any part of the day. But typically, they’re used during the reception such as toasts and formal dances.

I’ve shot all of my weddings as a solo shooter but if during our conversations, we determine that a second shooter is necessary (for example, if your timeline has many overlapping events or locations), we can definitely hire one to accompany me.

Your wedding collection is infinitely customizable. I’m also open to suggestions that outside of my offerings. I love trying new things and pushing myself creatively.

Absolutely! We just need to make sure we plan for the time it will take as well as transportation / parking. The best way to get the shots you envision without creating chaos is by planning for it on your timeline.

Yes, we’ll talk about my suggestions as you build your timeline.

Depending on the options you select, your films will be delivered between one to four weeks.

I capture the audio number of ways to ensure I have back-ups. I get a sound feed from your DJ/Band’s mixer, I mic you up, I put a sound recorder on the actual microphone, and I even put a recorder on one of the sound system’s speakers. This level of redundancy might seem excessive but the narrative pieces of your day such as vows, toasts, and speeches are just that important!

I use a licensing service called Musicbed. I pick the music based off of the emotion I’m trying to convey and you’re more than welcome to peruse their library and send me suggestions based off of what vibes with you and your style.

I do have a shot list but it’s more of a safety net, a baseline. Most of what makes it in your video are the creative, documentary shots I capture throughout the day. This ensures your wedding film doesn’t look like everyone else’s and is as unique as you.

My base package which I call the “Essential Collection” includes 8 hours of coverage and delivers a 3 to 5-minute highlight film that incorporates the audio from your vows, toasts, and speeches.

My filmmaking style presents my couples in an authentic way. If you’re looking for a lot of retouching, then I am probably not the right one for you.

My default is to wear a long sleeve dress shirt with a navy blue blazer, dress pants, and leather shoes. I can dress up or down based on your wedding’s style and the weather.

Absolutely, that’s all part of my client onboarding process.

While I love to celebrate my couple’s big days by posting on social media and my website, I don’t guarantee that I’ll post your videos or submit them to any publications.
